SECURITY: Focus On Nation Building, Protection, GOC 2 Div Advises Soldiers

Maj-Gen. Okudili Azinta, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division of the Nigerian Army Headquarters,Odogbo, Ibadan, has advised soldiers to focus on nation building and protection in order to win the war against insurgent.

Azinta, who was represented by the Chief of Army Staff, 2 Division of Nigerian Army, stated that this on Saturday evening during the camp fire night which was the grand finale of 2019 Army Day celebration in
Ibadan.



The GOC said that focusing on nation building and protection would not let the labour of the falling heros to be in vain.

" As soldiers and individuals, we must focus more on what we can do for the nation so that the labour of our falling heros will not be in vain.


" Government is always doing his part to support the troops and we on our own must be ready to put in our best," the GOC said.

He urged the troops to remain dedicated and hard working in carry out their task of protecting the nation to the best of their ability.

Azinta also called on Nigerians to continue to support the army to be able to perform the role assigned to them and overcome the war against insurgency.

 A total of 14,406 poorest of the poor households across 19 local government areas of Oyo State have been captured to receive N7,500 every month under the World Bank Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO). Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
