MINISTERIAL: Oyo APC Crisis Deepens As Group Calls BuhariNot to Appoint Ajimobi As Minister.

The Oyo State APC Reformers, a group of ex Caretaker Chairmen, Ex Commissioners, Ex Parliamentarians and other former political appointees across the 33 local governments in Oyo State has issued a press release, advising President Muhammadu Buhari not to consider or appoint former Governor of Oyo state Senator Abiola  Ajimobi into the ministerial cabinet or any sensitive federal position. 


The call was made in a  Release signed by the acting secretary, Oyo state APC Reformer,Mr. Sulaimon Ramon indicated that 90% of the members of this body were elected and political appointees under the former governor and have knowledge of  how retrogressive, deceitful , and self centred the former governor was. 

The party performed poorly in the last election due to the negligence of the former Governor Ajimobi on the issues affecting the APC and Oyo state.  

Appointing  the former Governor into any position will further deepens the crisis rocking Oyo APC and jeopardise the chances of the party to reclaim its lost glory in 2023.

The group also commended the security initiative of the South West Governors and their request for the State Police. 

While appreciating them for the decision to ensure security of life and property in the South West, it also advised the southwest  Governors  to make good use of Dr Fayemi’s position as the Chairman of NGF to enlist the support of other governors in making state police request a reality. 

"The Nigeria federation is too large for a monolithic police. We need to copy American system of policing that has federal, state, communities and Cities law enforcement agencies." The group added

The Oyo APC reformed in addition reiterated her support and confidence in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s clout and judiciousness in spearheading a new college of democratic leadership in Oyo APC. 

The Oyo APCReformers also indicated her confidence in Tinubu’s sagacity in identifying and recommending competent and qualify candidates for all positions in the state with adequate consultation with emerging powers in Oyo APC.  

The group emphasised that all efforts to rebuild Oyo APC will automatically fail immediately Ajimobi’s name is announced for any position.

 A total of 14,406 poorest of the poor households across 19 local government areas of Oyo State have been captured to receive N7,500 every month under the World Bank Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO). Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
