Gov. Makinde Visits Adeoyo Teaching Hospital, Pledges to Review its Operation.

The Oyo state government set to undertake a review of all it's hospital and health center in the state with a view to providing them with necessary infrastructure, governor Makinde disclosed. www.naijatodaynewsinfo.blogspot.com reports that the governor was accompanied by the state’s Head of Service, Amidat Agboola, on inspection of hospital facilities.

The governor who made disclosure during a visit to Adeoyo Teaching Hospital, Ibadan on Friday said that all the health facilities across the state would be giving necessary facelift.

In his remark, the governor promised to review the operation of the hospital and restore the confidence that the public have lost in it.

He further stated that the deplorable conditions of the health institution was a reflection of it's infrastructure neglected by past administration. "With what I see here, there is need for massive equipment to translate.

"Our aspirations is to make sure people have world class treatment here. Because, health is the major pillar of this administration. We don't want everybody to go to University College Hospital UCH to receive treatment. we may go to people like MTN and others to help us, because we are planning to have a very standard, possibly almost close to UCH standard.

"If I will have to rate the health facility of this hospital is not up to 30% in terms of ratings. The house cleaning is not up to standards, it supposed to be an hygienic environment. If I can come here and be worried that I may go home with something worse than what I came here for, is not good enough".

"We want to transform this hospital and I want to come back to see a transformed environment. We also observed that all staffs here are working in challenging environment and we will do our best to motivate them and "To whom much is giving ,much is expected"

"It's unfortunate that a state hospital would look like this. It is just a reflection of the bastardization of all the infrastructure and facilities in the state".

"While asking his plan for other hospital across othere zones, he said that, he is going to visit others physically, like what he did to Adeoyo hospital. Because he don't want rundown information which may or may not be correct and we would ask some organizations that are ready to assist us because it requires massive amounts of money to spend on it. "He stated

Governor Makinde, however, lend his support to patients who could not afford their hospital bills.

Earlier, the hospital Chief Consultant, Dr. Soji Adeyanju, thanked the governor for the visit and promised to support the state government in its bid to take Oyo State health sector to greater height.
Adeyanju took Makinde round the hospital facilities such as: Causality department, Pharmaceutical department, Labor ward, theater, physio therapy unit, Ante-Natal Ward, Children's ward.
