Gov. Makinde Promises Independent to Judicial Arm of Government.



The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde has promised Independent to the Judicial Arm of Government and absolute Separation of Power.

The Governor made the pledge on Wednesday during a visit to the Oyo State High Court, Ring-Road, Ibadan.

Makinde, who revealed that the bill for the establishment of Oyo State Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been prepared, and once it is pass into law, the State Judiciary should contribute its quota at implementing and executing as there is over #60billion looted funds in the wrong hands.


The governor, however, maintained cooperation with the judiciary arm and looking forward to working closely with the sister arm in moving the state forward.


In his address, the chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Munta Abimbola, appreciated the governor for his timely visit and appealed that the governor strengthen the Judicial Service Commission so that it can discharge its constitutional responsibilities without fear nor favor.


Present at the visit were: the deputy governor, Rauf Olaniyan;  Head of Service, Mrs. Amidat Agboola; President, Customary Court of Appeal of Oyo State, Hon. Justice Eni Esan; Administrative Judge of Oyo State, Hon. Justice Aderemi.
