MINISTERIAL: Sunday Dare, Explains How NCC Is Working To Tackle Kidnapping

The nominee from Oyo state and an Executive Commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commissions, Sunday Dare, has explained how the commission is working hard to fight kidnapping and other bandits in the country.
Mr. Dare stated this while being screened by members of the National Assembly on Thursday in Abuja.

When Ovie Omo-Agege, deputy senate president, asked him if the sanction in the NCC act is enough to curb non-registration of SIM cards by telecommunications operators.

He said tackling kidnapping is a collective effort. He said the Nigerian communications commission (NCC ) is working with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure that proper database is kept to curb crime.

He also explained that, very often, the NCC finds that the biometrics are not done properly, certain fields of the registration forms are missing, and in most cases, the pictures used are fuzzy.

Explaining further, he said the NCC is currently working with the NIMC with required equipment and software to solve the data issue.
