Oyo Assembly Moves To Evacuate Destitutes At Mokola Round About, Ibadan.



Mokola Flyover which was constructed in year 2013 during the first tenure of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the immediate past governor of Oyo state to ease the regular traffic congestion that usually characterized the area has been prohibited as harbor for destitutes by the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The Lawmakers, on Thursday, while deliberating on a motion brought to the house by Honorable Bimbo Olajide; tilted "Urgent Need To Extend The Divider To the Flyover At Mokola To Prevent Accidents And Evacuate Destitutes From The Vicinity" Moved that the executive arm through the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community Development, Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation Evacuate destitutes from the area, close up spaces at the terminal's ends and put measures in place to make rehabilitation centers in the state more functional.




The speaker, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, also ruled that the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority find a lasting solution to the flagrantly disobey traffic rules with impunity that eventually lead to loss of lives at Mokola Flyover.


In the same vein, the house observed First reading of the Oyo State Investment Promotion  Agency Bill, 2019.

A bill for a law to promote the establishment of the Oyo State investment promotion Agency and other matter connected therein.
