COVID-19: Oyo LG Chairman(FM) Enjoins State's Residents To Comply With Government's Directives On Partial Lockdown


Sequel to an outbreak and prevalent spread of corona virus pandemic that triggered the government's directives of partial lockdown(7pm-6am) in the state, The Caretaker Chairman, Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Area of Oyo State, Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola FM has enjoined the state's residents to comply strictly with Governor Seyi Makinde's directives on partial lockdown, so as to curtail, contain and prevent the further spread of pernicious disease.

FM in a chat with Khalid Imran, Editor Naija Today News in his Office at Molete, Iseyin said that it became imperative and necessary for the people of Oyo State to comply strictly with state government's directives on partial lockdown aimed at containing and curtailing the further spread of coronavirus pandemic in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

In his furtherance, FM disclosed that Covid-19 is real, considering the ways it spreads and kills victims across the globe, adding that its contraction would be prevented, provided people take to precautionary and hygienic measures.

On palliative measures to cushion the effects of lockdown in the state, FM said that Governor Seyi Makinde had been working round the clock and tirelessly on how the palliatives would be provided and made available to the people of the state, adding that as soon as Federal Government and Makinde roll out the relief materials, he would not hesitate to make the palliatives' distribution across the nooks and crannies of his official jurisdiction and beyond.

On criminality ensuing in Lagos and Ogun States as a result of lockdown, FM lamented that forceful invasion of hoodlums into different houses in Lagos and Ogun States at this material time was a bad experience, warning and enjoining the people of Oyo Sate not to allow its extension into the state, as Makinde is on top of the situation to provide the relief materials and equally beef up the security.

FM called on all and sundry regardless of political interest, religious beliefs and racial discrimination among others to rise collectively and mutually on how the contagious and killer disease would become menace of the past in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

FM thanked the people of Iseyin South LCDA, Iseyin Local Government and Oyo State at large for their patience and belief in the current government led by Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), stressing that promises made during the electioneering campaigns would be fulfilled, as many dividends of democracy would also be taken to all door steps.
