COVID-19:Charitable Group(Kajola LG) Distributes Relief Materials To Orphans, Widows

A Charitable Group championing the cause of 'War Against Hunger' in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State has distributed relief materials to orphans and widows, with a view to cushioning the effects of prevalent hunger among the aforementioned less privileged people in the community.

The event of consumable items' distribution for the downtrodden in the community took place on Monday, April 13 at Barracks, Okeho where orphans and widows were given rice, beans, drugs and other relief materials to prevent hunger.

In compliance with government's directives of social distancing and avoidance of over crowding, the beneficiaries were selected on batch basis where not less than ten people were allocated for counselling, admonition and presentation of items among others.

Five beneficiaries each were said to be randomly picked from Barracks, Gbonje, Ogan, Bode, Isale-Alubo, Isemi, Ilua, Imoba and OkeOgun-Ogbinte respectively.

In their appreciation, some of the  beneficiaries who are Mrs Iyabode Adelere(Barracks Okeho), Mrs Sarah  Adeagbo(Ajilu  Quarters, Okeho), Madam Mariam Isiaka Adebisi Seriki(Bode,Okeho) and Madam Kehinde Eyinade(Barracks, Okeho) thanked the group's members for extending kindness, considerate and philanthropic gesture to them at this material that feeding becomes difficult , adding that they could not thank them all, God in His infinite mercy would reward them in many folds.

Ustadh Adam Busari Awelenje and Ustadh Yaqub Busari Awelenje, the group's coordinator and chairman while speaking with Khalid Imran, Editor, Naija Today News disclosed that the distribution of consumable items to the orphans and widows in the community was to mitigate the prevalent hunger and also cushion the effects of lockdown being orchestrated by corona virus pandemic.

In his furtherance,  Adam said that the concept of ' War Against Hunger' was an idea borne out of feelings, passion and firm care for the orphans, widows and other less privileged people who are battling with serious hunger in their respective abodes.

Adding that the concept of ' War Against Hunger' was an idea  conceived by him and Yaqub whose prime motive centres on care for the orphans and widows.

 The group's chairman, Ustadh Yaqub Busari Awelenje said that the group's members were not religiously and politically constituted, as the adherents of the two notable religions formed the group for the purpose of selfless task.

He said that the accrued money for the procurement of those items was contributed by individuals who have passion and care for the orphans and widows in the community.

Awelenje added that the kindness to the downtrodden in the society was a continuance which they  implored all and sundry and most importantly the influential ones to donate for the cause of orphans, widows, handicaps and others who are in the need.
