COVID-19: Makinde Exhibits Outstanding Leadership Qualities — Oyo LG Chairman(FM)

The Caretaker Chairman of Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Iseyin Area of Oyo State, Hon. Abdul-Raheem Ajibola(FM) has described Governor Seyi Makinde as someone whose exhibition of outstanding leadership qualities has been helpful in containing, curtailing and tackling cotonavirus pandemic ravaging the state, Nigeria and world at large.

FM in a brief chat with Editor of Naija Today News, Khalid Imran in his office at Molete, Iseyin  said Makinde's displaying and mastery of leadership qualities had no doubt been facilitating and necessitating the curtailment of the pandemic in the state.

In his continuation, FM stressed that Makinde's headship of State's Covid-19 Taskforce and his quick intervention in curing and preventing the further spread of the pernicious disease has been yielding desirable and effective results.

Adding that Makinde's contraction of the pandemic was consequent upon his struggle and frontline efforts to curtail and contain the deadly and contagious virus, stressing that,as Governor had confirmed case of Covid-19, he was not economical with the truth to disclose his contraction with the disease.

FM said Makinde needed to be applauded that while in isolation for complete two weeks, he failed to jettison the official and constitutional responsibilities expected of him.

As Makinde made announcement of his recovery from corona virus pandemic which he confirmed possible through the taking of carrot, black seed, honey, garlic, tumeric among others, FM said that the governor wasted no time to swing into action for commissioning of Infectious Disease Centre at Olodo, Ibadan and other official engagement in other notable tasks.

On Governor's recovery from corona virus pandemic, FM on behalf of all people of Iseyin South LCDA rejoiced with Makinde on his recovery from confirmed negative test to the deadly disease.

On Lockdown, FM throwed his weight behind the governor on partial lockdown which he affirmed that its compliance has been yielding desirable and positive results,stressing that masses were commending him for being considerate in this regard.

On people making cheap popularity based on outbreak of the  pandemic, FM lamented that the relief materials being distributed, precautionary and hygienic measures towards the downtrodden in the society are lesser compared to their persons and influence.

FM frowned at Federal Government's current disposition to Oyo State on corona virus, stressing that,FG's preferential treatment at the expense of Oyo State was disheartening and sad,forgetting that the state was among the top four states ravaging by the contagious disease.

FM commended the governor that, despite the fact that the government at the centre has not done the needful for the state, Makinde does not relent in his concerted efforts to curtail and contain the disease as he added that his(governor's) accountability, transparency and openness towards the menace were commendable.

FM appealed to both Federal and State Governments to carry the government at local level along in programmes, activities and efforts designed to combat the ravaged pandemic, adding that if they truly mean the business, things should be channeled through the Local Government Administration because of the closeness to the people at the grassroots, which he affirmed would without doubt yield desirable, positive and expected results.
