FACT-CHECK: Latest Investigation Debunks Oyo Insight's Publication On Saki's Noncompliance With COVID-19 Directives

RE: INVESTIGATION - DESPITE COVID-19 THREAT, SAKI PEOPLE TRAVEL THROUGH BPRDERS, EXPOSE NIGERIA TO MORE CASES

Following the release published by Oyo insight in its online medium and shared across the notable  Social Media accounts, about the presumed event happening around Saki and her borders.

Truly, the various lockdown of states and Nigeria as a country has been experiencing some hiccups as a result of an attempt by our government to curtail the spread and total eradication of popular COVID-19. As far as Saki is concerned, all necessary directives  at the federal, state and local levels have been strictly adhered to.

To put all record straight, it is appalling to state without evidences that Saki as a town is still going by its illegal businesses as this neglects the factual logic behind the setup of Saki COVID-19 sensitization Group, a taskforce that has been alive to its duties and responsibilities to ensure full compliance by the people to the directives of the local, state and federal governments respectively.

Also, at no point foreigners have been allowed to enter Saki except pressmen and security personnel who go about to monitor the happenings around the town and its environ, meanwhile, shops have been shut, schools have been put on hold and all other things were confirmed  to be on a stand still as the security agencies are stationed  everywhere to enforce the order as gathered by SULANEWS, in Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State.

However, the reportage by Oyo insight directly contradicts the reality in Saki town – when the SulaNews visited Okerete Border Area, the place was deserted, only the Border drill taskforce was found around, as no any activity going on whatsoever.

Having the security of a town compromised is indicating that the town has a weak respect for law and order. Saki residents have always been seen and acknowledged complying with the rules and will never at any point in time  endanger lives by subscribing to unwholesome business transactions capable of putting their health to risk and anxiety.

While it is pertinent to have the interest of the health status of people living in Saki at heart, it should as well be stated that out of being careful to deny the Corona Virus' entry into Saki, one should be careful raising non-factual event cum reportage about fictitious stories that do not in anywise exist.

As at the time of filling this report, Saki is peaceful, everything is under control and strict adherence is being observed by indigenes of Saki town as they also pray, fast and hope the pandemic would soon be eradicated from our dear state and Nigeria at large.
