COVID-19: Jubilations As Oyo Deputy Speaker(Fadeyi) Distributes Relief Materials To Constituents

With a view to enhancing the constituents' compliance with the compulsory directives of Oyo Government's stay at home and also cushioning the effect of lockdown. The Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi has distributed palliative materials to the constituents.

Fadeyi who represents Ona-Ara State Constituency at the 9th State Assembly said he  considered the distribution of the relief materials important and necessary so as to cushion the effects orchestrated by the compulsory lockdown.
The Deputy Speaker revealed the distribution of  palliative materials to the constituents at his constituency office in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In his words, "today, in providing palliative for the good people of Ona-Ara State Constituency during the cause of this lockdown, I distributed food items to my constituents. It is generally accepted that food, shelter and housing are the 3 basic necessities of life". Fadeyi said.

In his furtherance,"in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic threatening our existence as a people, our intervention has become necessary due to current developments. As we advise our people to stay at home, we expect a corresponding reduction in the access of people to food either because of the closure of markets or the restriction of those who feed from proceeds they get from their daily businesses".
He said,"history will therefore not absolve me if I fail to send in my little intervention and palliative".

"As a parliamentarian, I understand how complex it will be for us to reach our people individually and directly to deliver our little contribution due to lack of data. We have however  worked hand-in-hand with religious leaders (Pastors and Imams) and other appropriate quarters for even distribution of the palliative".The parliamentarian concluded
