Oyo Teachers Organize Prayer Against COVID-19


The current and retired teachers in Oyo State have resolved to organize a prayer session against the curtailment of coronavirus pandemic which is slated for Wednesday, 1st April.

The prayer session was said to be at the instance confirmed case   of Governor Seyi Makinde and others who have contracted the deadly disease.
Announcement of the prayer session was contained in a message issued, signed by Rev. Bunmi Thomas, Admin/Coordinator of Oyo State Teachers Congress and made available to Naija Today News.

According to the message, "this is to direct all Teachers in the State with allegiance to the Teachers Congress to embark on a One-Day Prayer and Fasting on Wednesday, April 1, 2020".

"Every teacher serving or retired is hereby called upon to join this prayer session CALLING FOR GODS MERCY AND HEALING UPON ENGR. SEYI MAKINDE AND THAT GOD SHOULD PROTECT EVERYONE OF US, HEAL OUR LAND OYO STATE, HEAL THE WORLD AND BRING CORONA VIRUS TO AN END".

"On the occasion of this One Day Prayer and Fasting, be it Muslim, Christian or Traditional worshipper, we are enjoined to call on God in the way he would listen and by 12 midnight today, the TEACHERS CONGRESS 1 & 2 WOULD BE SWITCHED OFF UNTIL 6:30PM APRIL 1, 2020 when the prayer and fasting session would have ended".

"Please let's give this CLARION CALL the widest publicity it deserves".
