Oyo Govt Launches 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day With Millions Of Naira


Oyo state government has launched appeal week emblem of 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration with 3 million Naira

Governor Seyi Makinde pledged the donations at the launching of Appeal week emblem to cater for the living and family slain servicemen who fought for National Sovereignty and Keeping of International Peace.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy Egnr Rauf Olaniyan said the government of Oyo state will continue to support the living and family of slain soldiers for their selfless serve towards protecting their father land.

According to him,the role of the departed and living Servicemen played in the first and second world war as well as international peace keeping mission can not be over emphasized hence the need for well meaning Nigerians to donate towards the welfare of needy ex- Servicemen and their dependants

Earlier in his remarks,the chairman, Nigerian legion,Oyo State Command Deacon Michael Fajimi said the Nigerian legion is committed to the welfare of the living and family of the slain soldiers through various programmes to alleviate their suffering

He lauded the state government under Governor Seyi Makinde for given priority to the welfare of the people and support to the Nigerian legion Oyo state chairman.

Among the dignitaries decorated with 2020 emblems included the Deputy Governor Egnr Rauf Olaniyan, Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly Abiodun Fadeyi, Secretary to the state government Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Deputy Chief of Staff Mr Mogbojubola, Chief of Staff to General Officer Commanding, Nig Army 2Div Brig Gen KO Isoni, former military Governor of Ogun and Lagos states General Raji Rasaki and Members of the State Executive Council .
