AKESAN INFERNO: Makinde Promises To Rebuild Market, Set To Pay 30 Thousand New Minimum Wage.


The Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde has promised that his administration will rebuild the fallen Akesan Market burnt to ashes in a wild inferno.

The governor stated this on Wednesday at the 2020 Oyo state government interdenominational service held at the government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The governor who took full responsibility for the Ineffectiveness of the Oyo state fire service, said government would get the records of the affected victims for possible Intervention.

Governor Makinde noted that he has ordered immediate investigation into the recent fire outbreak in the state and once the report gets to him, all its recommendation would be implemented.

Speaking on the 30thousand new minimum wage, governor Makinde said once the negotiation between the committee set up to look into the minimum wage issue submit its report, he would be give it an optimal consideration and his administration will not pay lesser than the 30thousand new minimum wage.

As at the time of compiling this report, governor Makinde is on his way to Oyo town to pay on the spot assessment visit to the 400-year-old Akesan Market.
