2020: Don't Be Disappointed By The Betrayal Of Trust — Lanlehin Speaks On Coalition Agreement


The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in last year’s general election, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), has charged supporters not to feel dejected, disappointed or dismayed, particularly in the light of current political dynamics in the state.
He stated this in his new year message made available to www.insideoyo.com on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo satte capital.
The foremost politician wish Nigerians in general, and the good people of Oyo State in particular, a very happy new year.

Lanlehin also felicitates the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, Obas throughout Oyo State, Ibadan High Chiefs, Mogajis and Baalẹs, wishing them all many more years not only on the throne of their forebears, but also in the service of their people.
Lanlehin, who appreciates the gift of life and the grace to be alive granted by the Almighty, equally commends Nigerians for their industry, hardwork and commitment to the peace, prosperity and progress of the land, praying that the blessings and mercies of God shall abide with them now, and forever.

Senator Lanlehin who specially appreciated his supporters for their unflinching support over the years, particularly in the just concluded year, charged them not to feel dejected, disappointed or dismayed, particularly in the light of current political dynamics in the state, which might be well interpreted as a classic betrayal of trust, and a repudiation of a gentlemanly agreement, urged them to rather take solace in the fact that they were part of a courageous coalition which midwifed a new government. “The good times will surely come,” he admonished his supporters.

Senator Lanlehin while calling on those in position of authority to prioritize the people in their thoughts, plans and actions, and ensure they deliver democratic dividends which are impactful, intimated them that having now spent six months in office, the clocks of their four year tenures (at least in the first instance), has begun ticking, and that in a twinkle of an eye, it’ll all be over. Said he: “those in leadership positions at both the national and state levels should make the delivery of democratic dividends the centrepiece of their actions, recalling that in just a matter of 42 months, it will all be over”.

Senator Lanlehin who prayed for Nigeria and Oyo State to experience peace and prosperity this year 2020 and beyond, called on the people to continue in their belief and commitment to a greater Nigeria, assuring them that he will continue to play his part, and also cooperate with like-minded patriots, in efforts dedicated towards bringing smiles and succour to the people’s faces.
