FG Grants Shittu’s Request, Awards Contract To Rehabilitate Saki Water Supply Scheme

The Federal Government of Nigeria has granted approval to former Minister of Communications, Barr. Adebayo Shittu’s request to rehabilitate the Saki Water Supply Scheme.

Shittu who hails from Saki wrote to  the Buhari led-government in 2017 while he was still in office as a Minister.


In a letter obtained by insideoyo.com dated 8th of January, 2020, the Water Scheme project include the rehabilitation of the conventional Water Treatment to install capacity of 3.300m3/d, replacing the Low and High lift Pump, supply and installation of transmission pipes of the reservoir.

Also, the supply and installation of pipes to some areas in the town, renovation of the administrative building and installation of solar plant will be done.

The Ministry of Water Resources said Messrs Jidadu Ventures Limited emerged as the bidder in the procurement process.


The site handing over is slated for Thursday, 23rd of January, 2020.
