Oyo Government Received #5b Allocation From FG In February 2019.

Oyo state government received the sum of N5 billion as total net allocation from the federation account in February 2019 for the revenue generated in Janaury 2019, according to a document seen by InsideOyo.com. The document released on Tuesday by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, showed that the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursed the sum of N660.37bn to the three tiers of government in the state period. The amount disbursed comprised of N497.12bn from the Statutory Account, N104.47bn from Valued Added Tax (VAT), N8.12bn as excess charges recovered, N50bn distributed as FOREX Equalisation Fund and N654.70mln exchange gain differences. Federal Government received a total of N275.33bn from the N660.37bn. States received a total of N182.17bn and Local Governments received N136.88bn. INEC To Present Certificate of Return For Makinde, Olaniyan And Assembly members-elect on Wednesday

Engr Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Engr Rauf Olaniyan would be presented their certificates of return on Wednesday, 27th March, 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. At an event scheduled to hold at Premier Hotel, Ibadan starting from 10:am. Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr Mutiu Agboke, who confirmed the development, also said that elected House of Assembly members will receive their certificates of return on the same day. We would recall that  Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in just concluded election won 26 out of the 32 seats leaving All Progressives Congress, APC and Action Democratic Party, ADP, with 5 and 1 seats respectively.

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has approved the appointment of Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi as the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. The governor also approved the appointments of other principals officers of the institution. According to a statement in Ibadan on Monday by the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun, other appointments approved by Governor Ajimobi are Mrs. Modupe Theresa Fawole as the Registrar, Mr. Olawale Adebayo Ojesola as the Bursar, Dr. Samuel Folaranmi Ajala as the Chief Librarian while Engr. Stephen Folorunsho Ipadeola as the Director of Works and Services. The Peoples Democratic Party, Oyo State Chapter, has raised alarm over the rapacious looting of Oyo State treasury by the Ajimobi led APC government in the state. In a statement released by PDP party publicity secretary, engr. Akeem Olatunji, stated that, "Of recent is the purchase of 33 excavators from local government fund without the consent of the local government Chairmen.  The Chairmen were invited via text messages on Thursday for a Friday event which has gulped larger percentage of their allocations and it will be difficult to justify the purchase which failed due process at a time most of the local councils and LCDAs find it difficult to meet their financial commitments.
