LAUTECH Students Showers Prayer On Makinde, Wishes Him Quick Recovery.

Around 4:00pm yesterday the sad news of the test result of His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde broke out drawing several reactions from students of the prestigious institution of Technology, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso.

The news which was released by the official twitter handle of the Governor @seyiamakinde reads:

“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate. I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”

A renown student leader and the erstwhile SUG president Comr. Abiodun Oluwaseun Laurel reacted and posted on his status which reads;

Humanity is strongly behind you in this trying time,you will see this through and lead us to the promise land. God’s protection over you Father, you are a victor and you will come out of this victorious. Continue to fight and Stay strong for us, we are with you in prayers.

Another student leader, an aspirant for the post of NANS JCC CHAIRMAN OYO AXIS, Comr Opakunle Oluwafunbi Mayowa (aka) Opakan also reacted;

“Nothing shall by any means take you away, father to all. You have always thrived, and you will thrive over this too, man of the people.”

Following in the same suit is the President of Lautech drug free club, Comr.  Tolulope Adewusi DF also reacted and his status reads;

“May no ailment of any form cut short all expectations of you. You shall fulfill all your plans and even live longer to enjoy the fruits of your works”.Amen

Few minutes after their leaders have spoken, the Lautech student community went agog and there were showers of prayer for the Governor and his team. The reason for this reaction is not far fetched as the Governor has won over the hearts of the students in the institutionin several ways.

Recently, he approved the reconstruction of a major road that leads to the school amongst many other roads, Stadium-UnderG-LAUTECH Gate road,this is indeed a great news and a hope of development in that axis as it will birth several other developments in the area. The importance of a good road cannot be over emphasized as studies have ultimately shown its importance in economic increase in different locations.

It is worthy to note that the Governor, has been a father and benefactor to many; H.E Governor Seyi Makinde, has  on several occasions proven his love and commitment to the welfarism of students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, he has so far been up to the task of funding the institution and prompt payment of salaries of the institutions workforce, he has been rolling out policies that will restore and reposition the institution on the global map. These and many more are the reasons why the student of the institution are showing support and solidarity to the people's Governor for his show of concern and consistent support to the student populace.

Unfortunately, this good man of valour and goodwill has tested positive to the pandemic COVID-19 even without showing symptoms.

We pray the good Lord strengthen him, and grant him quick recovery without complications. Also we pray the good lord uphold his family, his loved ones and the entire good people of Oyo state as we are hopeful and expectant of the news of his total recovery to continue in his humanitarian style of Governance. Amen

 A total of 14,406 poorest of the poor households across 19 local government areas of Oyo State have been captured to receive N7,500 every month under the World Bank Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO). Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
