CORONAVIRUS: Nigeria Records First Death From Corona Virus Pandemic


The Federal Republic of Nigeria has recorded first death from corona virus pandemic around 2am of Monday, 23rd March.

The victim was said to be the former Managing Director of Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Suleiman Achimugu who hailed from Kogi State.
Report had it that the deceased got back from United Kingdom two weeks ago and started exhibiting symptoms on Tuesday.
The family was said to have reported to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) which the family affirmed their presence for taking his blood specimen.

The family stressed the NCDC's failure to get back to the family in time, adding that, as of yesterday afternoon, the deceased was alleged of coughing profusely and called on NCDC to inquire about his result which they ultimately confirmed positive.

The NCDC was said to have picked him up and rushed him to Gwagwalada in Abuja but confirmed dead at 2am of Monday, 23rd March.
The deceased family members are said to be currently under quarantine in their house.
