PDP Worried As Coalition Parties Hold Separate General Meetings.

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Oyo State has become worried and restless as Coalition parties that went into 2019 gubernatorial agreement which eventually produced Seyi Makinde as the current Governor of the state alleged of holding separate general meetings.
According to a loyal Chieftain of the party in Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State who maintained anonymity lamented that the party has become worried and uneasy as coalition parties like African Democratic Congress(ADC) and Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) have been holding separate general meetings since Makinde won election and sworn-in as the governor of the pace-setter state
.
While revealing his and party's uneasiness, the PDP's Chieftain said that the failure and inability of the coalition parties to coalesce into the PDP's fold and hold joint general meeting has unverified political undertone which he assumes could spell doom of the party in the subsequent elections.
He reiterated that since the coalition arrangements triggered Makinde's emergence in the just concluded governorship election in the state, the members of the ADC and ZLP have been holding separate general meetings despite the terms of agreement, saying concerted efforts were in pipeline to unravel the substantial reasons that make them continuing holding their separate general meetings.

Naija TODAY News recall that the coalition formed by Four Parties in Oyo State ADC, ZLP, SDP and PDP brought the emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2019 Governorship election to show the way out for the then ruling party, All Progressive Congress APC.

But Mrs Azeez, a staunch loyalist of ADC in Iseyin Local Government said there was no agreement that ADC would coalesce into PDP while sitting on the terms of negotiation that produced and necessitated the emergence of the current governor, saying the party(ADC) could think otherwise provided Makinde fulfils the terms of negotiation he had with the party.

In her grievances, she said Makinde had not been fair to the agreement as 30 percent's terms of negotiation have not been optimally fulfilled, accussing Makinde of marginalizing the party in the scheme of benefits and entitlements.

A loyal Chieftain of ZLP in Iwajowa Local Government who pleaded for anonymity said the party had been completely marginalised, saying none of 15 percent's terms of negotiation had been fulfilled since the government under the leadership of Makinde came onboard and started sharing the portfolios.

Adding that two commissioners were given to the party(ZLP), the two names penciled down and forwarded to the Governor had been removed with no reasons and call for replacement.
On the issue of general meeting, he said they could not hold any joint meeting with PDP because the party has not done the needful to ZLP and also there was no agreement of coalescing into PDP.
