Makinde To Appoint Bosses to LCDAs In Oyo State Not Election — Chief Bisi Ilaka.


Oyo state government has affirmed that election would not be hold in the Local Council Development Area of the state but appointment might be made into this areas.

The statement was made by the Oyo state Chief of staff, Bisi ilaka, while addressing journalist at the state government secretariat, agodi, ibadan

Bisi ilaka noted that in the previous administration it was said that election was held but it was held in those areas that was not known to the Constitution of Nigeria.
 He further acknowledge that the present administration in the state led by Engr. Seyi makinde is ready to carry everybody along and want it to be all inclusive, to clear any insinuations of imposing anybody on them.


Recall that the Governor Makinde had upon taking his oath of office sacked the elected council bosses in an election conducted by the immediate past administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
The disclosure on the plans for the appointment of the caretaker council bosses was made by the Chief of Staff to Governor Makinde, Chief Bisi Ilaka during a media interaction.

According to Ilaka, one of the factors affecting the constitution and announcement of the names of the appointed caretaker council bosses is to give room for all inclusiveness and input from all party stakeholders, including leaders and members.
Although, Ilaka was not specific as the exact time the name of the caretaker council chairmen would be announced, feller is that the appointment would be made any moment.

He assured that, to the present administration, the sacked council bosses are gone for good in the history of the state, adding that with the overwhelming majority of the party in the State House of Assembly, the party has nothing to fear.
He added that, the camp of the government is calm and relax as per the much awaited judgement of the country’s apex court on the March 9, 2019 Governorship election, “in which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won with a landslide margin.”
Meanwhile, the Governor too had at different occasions assured the party members that effort is on to appoint bosses into the council areas so as to allow for wider and especially grassroots participation in running the affairs of the state.
