The residents of Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State have lamented over the continuous depreciation of the multi million naira constituency projects which have been abandoned for some years.
The residents while registering their frustrations during an interview with Naija TODAY News reporter, Alidu Muraina on the multi million naira abandoned Mini Hospital at Ashi-Pamo area, ward 05 and Oke-Ogun Ogbinte, ward07, Okeho LG Area of the state, alleged the current senator of Oyo North Senatorial District at upper chamber of the National Assembly, Sen Fatai Buhari and also the current honourable for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Shina Abiola Pella for abandoning the projects on political dichotomy.
The allegation which was said to be consequent upon the abandonment of the multi million naira Mini Hospitals that were built at ward05(Ashi-Pamo) and ward 07(Oke-Ogun Ogbinte) by Senator Hosea Ayoola Alleluyah in 2013.
In an interaction with Alhaji Musodiq Alawiye in Okeho recently, he lamented that the two abandoned mini hospitals built in Okeho, Kajola LG area of the state cost almost #1billion, adding that the projects' discontinuation could be premised on defeat that the initiator, Alleluyah suffered at 2015 general elections.
Alawiye alleged the current Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District at upper chamber of the National Assembly and honourable representing Iseyin-Itesiwaju-Iwajowa-Kajola Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Sen Fatai Buhari and Hon Shina Abiola Pella for playing politics of political differences against the constituency projects initiated by predecessor who was a parliamentarian under another political platform.
Alawiye added that there were time for politics and governance, saying when politics was over, governance needs to be faced with no regard to political dichotomy, acrimony and sentiment.
In another development, a resident of Okeho, Alfa Abojututu said the abandonment of the projects was sequel to National Assembly's failure to monitor the constituency projects initiated by colleagues, adding that the president of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila should endeavour to set up the Monitoring Team to be looking into the projects initiated by colleagues and most especially the ones who could not make their way back into the Senate and House of Representatives.
He encouraged the politicians and most especially the parliamentarians at state and federal levels to jettison the politics of bitterness and acrimony that causes more harm than good to common masses in the society.
I am pleased to read a reminder of abandoned projects initiated by the NASS members but discontinued completion of attention and usage for the community built them for. I wish the authority concerned took the necessary steps to formalize its official presentation for the public.
