Nigeria Army Decorates Newly Promoted Officers in Ibadan.


The 2 Division of the Nigerian Army on Monday 18th in Ibadan decorated 4 officers newly promoted from the ranks of Colonel to Brigadier-General, Naija TODAY News reports.

Speaking at the decoration ceremony, held at the Division’s Officers Mess, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Div Maj.-Gen. AB Omozoje, charged the officers of the army to  always exhibit high level of discipline and professional competence. The GOC gave the charge on Monday at an event organised to decorate the newly promoted officers from the rank of colonel to Brigadier General.



Major General Omozoje reminded the officers the  enormous responsibilities and critical role expected of from them. He also advised the promoted officers to continue to pray and work hard.
While congratulating the officers, Omozoje reminded them that “to whom much is given, much is expected’’.
He enjoined the newly promoted officers to see the promotion as a call for more critical roles.


The GOC said their promotion was by divine intervention owing to the fact that many officers  participated at the promotion exercise but that they were fortunate to be shortlisted among the few who were elevated to the new rank.
“Promotion comes from God alone; so I want to urge the newly promoted officers to work and pray harder.
“I want to urge you to continue to work hard and not be found wanting, ” he said.


One of the newly promoted officers who spoke with Naija TODAY News, expressed his profound gratitude to God, the chief of Army staff and the GOC 2 Division.


Naija TODAY News reports that Four Officers were decorated from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier-Generals.

The officers that were promoted from colonel to Brigadier General include Brigadier General, A O Arogbofa, Brigadier General DB Suleyman, Brigadier General M O Erebulu and Brigadier General C C Ogbu.
In attendance to grace the ceremony were the families, friends and well-wishers of the promoted Senior Officers.
