Oyo LG Crisis: Kajola Caretaker Chairman Returns Office Amidst Jubilation


The Caretaker Chairman, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon.(Alh.) Afolabi Saliman Borikansunwon has returned to office on Monday, February 3rd, amid jubilations and fun fares from the admirers, party supporters and stakeholders respectively.

Borikansunwon's return to office which happened around 8:30am was said to have premised on injunction from the State High Court, Oyo State which directed that the initial status quo should be maintained until the case pending at Appeal Court is dispensed.

In an interaction with the caretaker chairman in his office, he said his return to the office was no doubt premised on injunction from Oyo State's High Court which compelled the sacked chairmen to leave the offices and ascertained the maintenance of status quo,until matter pending at appeal court is addressed, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) remained a noble and law-abiding political party which its ardent supporters are adhering to the terms, provisions of the constitution and pronouncement of the courts.

Borikansunwon said that when the said directives came from the Anthony General of the federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami that all the caretaker chairmen in the state should vacate the offices and the Inspector General of Police should ensure the return of the sacked chairmen into the offices, the caretaker chairman said they all complied and left the offices as compelled.

He said that when the injuction was sought and obtained from the state high court, adding that nothing could stop the return of the caretaker chairmen across the local governments in the state.

He said that the sacked APC chairmen across the state are not expected to take laws unto their hands,stressing that the case is already pending at appeal court and which is noted to be dispensed on February 19th, 2020,which  he urged them to wait cautiously.

On assumption of office, he urged all and sundry to keep supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde whose governance is ready to turn things aroud in education, health, agriculture, environment and human capital investment among others.

He said that the cardinal points of Governor Seyi Makide's administration would be replicated at the grassroots where the notable dividends of democracy would be brought to all and sundry.

On party supporters and loyalists  that thronged the local government for the rousing welcome of the caretaker chairman into the secretariat, they were all jubilating and dancing up and down with no riots, lawlessness and exhibition of no violence. 
A party loyalist and one of the youth leaders in Kajola, Comrade Kabiru Olaoye said that the party and its supporters stood on maintenance of no violence, disorderliness and lawlessness among other the dastardly acts.
