JUST IN: "Nigeria Tribune" Misleads The Public, Southwest APC Hasn't Endorsed Anybody as Deputy National Chairman — Zonal Publicity Secretary

Following the appointment saga of former governor of Oyo State Sen Abiola Ajimobi as Deputy National Chairman of The ruling All Progressive Congress APC. The Zonal Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress(APC) in South West, Rt. Hon. Asiwaju Karounwi Oladapo has debunked the publication credited to Nigerian Tribune that the party at the  zonal level has endorsed the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the Deputy National Chairman for the zone.

In a release personally signed and made available to Naija Today News on Friday, February 7th revealed that Ajimobi's endorsement was nothing but a mere fabrication "the attention of the leadership of the south west Caucus was drawn to a misleading information published by Nigeria Tribune of Friday 7,2020, that the South west Caucus approved the appointment of Senator Abiola Ajimobi as the Deputy National Chairman of APC at the Osogbo Meeting of the APC leadership".

He added, "The Zonal Publicity Secretary, Rt Hon. Karounwi Oladapo wishes to say that the story was fabricated and it was a complete falsehood as nothing like that happened in the said meeting".

In his words,"Members of the Public and APC members should disregard such claims. How can the leadership Caucus in Abuja ratify a non existent endorsement and approval as claimed by the Tribune publication". "As the Zonal Publicity Secretary, statutorily responsible for dissemination of news and information from the Zonal Caucus, I did not issue any statement after the Osogbo meeting because I was not authorized to so do.

Where then did Tribune obtain his information? We expect Tribune to take seriously any matter that can put its integrity into question", Oladapo said
"Once again, I will like to reiterate the Statement of the National Vice Chairman South West and the Chairman of the South west Zonal Caucus, Pastor Bankole Oluwajana, that the Party never approved nor endorsed any candidate at its Osogbo meeting and that the APC National leadership will resolve  who among Senator Gbenga Aluko and Senator Abiola Ajimobi will occupy the vacant seat at the appropriate time",the scribe said


You will recall that on Wednesday night, Sen Abiola Ajimobi was announced as the new deputy national chairman of All Progressive Congress through APC twitter handle and since then, Nigerians have been negatively and positively reacts to the new post of the former governor.

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state.
