JUST IN: Oyo Banned NURTW Threatens To Forment Troubles As Makinde Ready To Inaugurate Park Managers


Sequel to determination and resolve of Oyo State Government to inaugurate the park managers and members of the disciplinary committee this week, the banned members of National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) in the state have been threatening and boasting to foment troubles, provides Governor Seyi Makinde goes ahead with his plan.

In a NURTW's stakeholders' meeting  viral video trending across all social media and championed by former chairman of the union in the state, Alh. Abideen Olajide fondly called 'Ejiogbe' appealed to the governor to jettison the idea and resolved plan of inaugurating the park managers across the local governments in the state.

In his appeal, Ejiogbe appealed to all Traditional Rulers, The Political Icons, Religious Leaders and all that matter in the state to appeal to the governor to jettison the planned inauguration of the proposed park managers so as to forestall troubles and avoidance of lawlessness.

Ejiogbe lamented that the NURTW was not under the state government and the governor should under matter of urgency lift the proscription placed on the union for the past 9 months, emphasising that the union was not under the state government and he should not try the proposed inauguration of park managers slated for this week.

In his words, Alh. Waheed Adeoyo, a stakeholder said that governor should be reminded that the union members feed and upkeep themselves in the accrued money realising from daily activities,saying that for the past 10 years in the state, union had not been fomenting troubles and caught of any bloodshed.

Adeoyo said governor should act in line with court injuction that restricts him from proscribing the union, boasting that any attempt to inaugurate and introduce the park managers to their parks this week, the union would also resume to their usual activities.

Alh. Abass Amolese lamented that governor should not make an attempt of making Alh. Mukaila Lamidi who is nicknamed 'Auxiliary',their leader, adding that if Auxiliary had been useful to him, he should place him on salary scale but not the next union leader. He boasted it would rain, if Makinde goes ahead to inaugurate and introduce the park managers.

It would be recalled that The Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Raphael Afonja ,said that the government of Oyo State had resolved to inaugurate the park managers and disciplinary committee who will oversee the turnaround of the motor parks in the local governments across the state.
The park managers, according to a statement from the office of the commissioner confirmed that the local governments and inter-state park managers would be used to collect revenue for the state government in the various motor parks within the state.

The development that is coming up after 9 months that the state government had proscribed the state's NURTW following their members' lawlessness and return to former black days of violence and bloodshed.
