Oyo NUJ: Petitions Against Me By "The Rival Camp" Necessitate My Sack By PUNCH NEWSPAPER — Demola Babalola

The candidate vying for the seat of Oyo State's Chairmanship of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ademola Babalola had said his sack by Punch Newspaper was orchestrated by the petitions written against him by the rival camp.

Babalola disclosed this at Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State on Tuesday, December 10 during his electioneering campaign tour that was extended to Oke-Ogun, NUJ Federated Chapel ahead of the election slated for Wednesday, December 18.

In his grievances, Babalola lamented that different petitions had been written against him with acrimonious motive of getting him disqualified from participating at the forthcoming union's election.
He added that the petitions forwarded to punch newspaper where he was working had been considered by the management with immediate sack from work.
Babalola said that his source of living and survival had been terminated sequel to sentimental petitions written to damage his person and getting him disqualified from participating in the electoral exercise.

He said NUJ was a unionism which its activities and programmes needed to be carried  out in line with democratic principles and tenets that uphold the profession of journalism.
Babalola said that his rival camp had been acting contrary to the normalcy of the game, adding that if the incumbent occupier of office seeking for reelection had done well, he had should not nurse any phobia as his achievements would campaign for him.

He however pledged that if he is returned as the chairman of Oyo State's NUJ, he would ensured his performances are unprecedented and remarkable.
