Oyo Assembly Paid A Visit to Spot of Violence At Idi-Arere(Ib Southwest), Commiserate With The Family.



The Oyo State House of Assembly, this Yesterday, paid on the spot assessment visit to Idi-Arere and its adjoining neighborhood in Ibadan South-West 1, Constituency towards ascertaining the gravity of the violence that rocked the area on Wednesday, 19th June, 2019 that left one person dead and many properties destroyed.

It would be recall that, the house, while observing its plenary on the 25th of June, 2019 resolved to set up a 6-man ad-hoc committee to visit the scene of the incident and commiserate with the family of the deceased and other victims; following a matter of urgent public importance raised by the deputy chief whip, Honorable Yusuf Adebisi, titled: "Urgent need to find lasting solution to the perennial problem of gangs violence in some neighborhood around Ibadan South-West 1.

The deputy speaker, Oyo state house of assembly, Hon Abiodun Fadeyi who doubles as the chairman of the committee described the incident as very unfortunate. Saying, the committee discovered that there's no police station or police post in the area, pledged that the committee will recommend to the government to facilitate the siting a police station in Ibadan South-West constituency 1.



While appreciating the lawmakers for their timely visit, Jelilat Ayegbajeje, the mother of the 21-year-old Wariz Ayegbajeje, reportedly killed by Azeez Adebisi who was said to stabbed the deceased on the chest and belly following a misunderstanding between the duo on Wednesday, 19th June, 2019 which coincident with Wariz's 21-year birthday, called on the Oyo state government to bring the culprit (Azeez Adebisi) who had disappeared into the thin air to book.   



Other areas visited by the lawmakers includes: Sogbale compound in Idi-Arare; Iyana-Asuni, Popo-'Yemoja; The Olubadan's Palace, Popo and Oba Eddy Oyewole's palace, Foko.
