INSECURITY: GOC Gen. Okwudili Azinta Declare War Against Insurgency.

The General Officer Commanding, GOC, Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Gen. Okwudili Azinta, on Sunday reiterated the command's commitment at combating insurgency in the South-West region and Nigeria at large. The GOC affirmed the commitment through Brigedier general  Shoyele, commander, 2 division garrison at inter-denominational church service held at Christ the King Military Catholic church, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan to mark the 2019 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) coming up on the 6th of July, 2019. Operatives of the Department of State Services wearing hooded masks, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have surrounded the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly in Guzape, Abuja. Our correspondent, who is currently at the scene, observed at least 50 security operatives with patrol vehicles on either side of the road on Nasir el-Rufai crescent where the church is located. The PUNCH reports that although security officials are usually deployed in the church every Sunday, the number of operatives today is another higher than usual. Another lady identified as Franca E. has come out with rape allegation against the Senior Pastor of COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo. The lady said that she has all the evidence intact, in case the pastor dares to deny it. DAILY POST had reported that Busola, wife of music star,  Timi Dakolo, revealed how the cleric raped her. The Pastor has since  denied the rape allegation, saying that he has not raped anyone even as an unbeliever. ARMED FORCE DAY: Nigeria Army Carries out Environmental Sanitation in Ibadan.

As part of the activities lined up for the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), officers of Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army, Ibadan, this Saturday, embarked on environmental sanitation across Ibadan metropolis. The event which was said to hold in all Nigerian Amy Formations nationwide starts from 29 june to 6 July, 2019. With the theme: "Professionally Responsive Soldiering: Panacea For Successful Military Operation." The military men led by the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 2 Division Nigerian Army, Gen. Okwudili Azinta, embarked on what could be described as community service with rehabilitation of bad portions of Agodi-Gate road. Loopholes on the road were filled while refuse on the road packed inside Garbage trucks. Nigerian Army day is an annual event typically held on every 6th of July in honour of members of the Nigerian army especially those that lost their lives during the civil war.

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has appointed the Country Implementation Lead of the Shell Business Operations (SBO), Nigeria, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, made the appointment public on Friday. The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State branch, has commended the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for prompt payment of salaries and pension of workers on the payroll of Oyo State Civil Service. The Pensioners, in a letter addressed to the office of the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, which was signed by the State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Olusegun Abatan,   stated that for the first time in the history of Oyo state pensioners and workers, salaries  and pensions were received on the 25th of the month. According to the pensioners, the development was a fulfillment of Makinde’s election promise to that effect.   The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has named a former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and former Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Honourable (Chief) Babatunde Oduyoye, as his Special Adviser on Strategy and Political Matters. In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, stated that the appointment is coming on the heels of the approval granted the Governor by the Oyo State House of Assembly for the appointment of 12 Special Advisers. Oduyoye, the statement noted, is expected to bring on board his over 30 years of political experience as a national leader of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), an Afenifere chieftain and a former member of the House of Representatives. The newly-named Special Adviser holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nigeria's premier University, the University of Ibadan, where he also had his undergraduate studies in Psychology.

Oyo State Governor  Seyi Makinde has  promised  traditional rulers  in the state  roles  in his administration. Makinde said this  during   the  celebration of  the birthday of the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao. The governor, who was represented by a former federal lawmaker, Babatunde Oduyoye, said the task of  repositioning the state could only be achieved if traditional rulers were given the opportunity to discharge their duties effectively in their  domains. He said  monarchs  in the state  would be allowed to perform their statutory roles of  preserving  culture and tradition. Makinde added that his government was committed to fixing the deplorable Olorunsogo-Amuloko-Akanran road in Oyo. The immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has appealed to people of the state for his misdeeds in office as executive governor Ajimobi added that people of the state must learn to forgive him for any foul committed in office, especially in his utterances, adding that those were the things that made him who he is and different from every other person.
