Wumi Oladeji, Ogundoyin, Other Oyo Lawmakers Elect, Appears at Workshop On Effective Legislations.

The newly honourable members of Oyo State House Of Assembly have commenced a 5 day Workshop on Effective Legislations preparatory to their inauguration in the first week of June,this year.

The workshop which is holding at.the Park Inn Hotel, Abeokuta was wholly sponsored by a German body, Konrad  Adenaurr Stiftung under the leadership of there Country Representatives,  Vladimir Kreck with a League of very resourceful scholars. The Honourables member elect of Oyo State House of Assembly Harem Olalere Obadara described the workshop as imperative and a solid way of commencing  effective legislative work. 

According to one of newly elected members, the Ibadan North West member elect, hon Olalere Obadara stated that the workshop is also been attended by Members Elect from Lagos and Ogun State. He maintained that the Workshop is  imperative as a guide to what should preoccupied the mind of a dutiful and responsible legislator. Hon Obadara assured that the Elected Honourables would learn a lot from the workshop which would equip them for robust legislations.

The Ibadan North West member elect averred that the incoming administration of Engr Seyi Makinde would improve the ratings of the state and add positive values to the lives of residents of the pace setter state. He further reiterated his resolve to adequately represent the 11 Wards of the local government through deliveries of democratic dividends to all and sundry without regards to political affiliations ,religion or social status."It is a new dawn in our state and in my local government from May 29, this year and beyond".  A total of 14,406 poorest of the poor households across 19 local government areas of Oyo State have been captured to receive N7,500 every month under the World Bank Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO). State Coordinator, Oyo State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU), Mrs Olaide Lasisi, made this known on Wednesday, in Ibadan, at a sensitisation of Chairmen of local government areas in the Community Based Targeting Exercise of the YESSO programme. Noting that the 14,406 households amounted to 58,435 individuals in its register of beneficiaries to collect N7,500, Lasisi said the state coordinating unit had also just identified another set of 14,594 households in the remaining 14 local government areas as potential beneficiaries. Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
