Oyo 2019: Labour Party Called For transparent sharing of the 30 per cent political office sharing formula

The Labour Party faction in African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Wednesday congratulated the Oyo State Governor-elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde, his Deputy, Engr. Remi Olaniyan, people of Oyo State and party members (Labour Party) for their great contributions to the successful of the just concluded election.

The Convener of the meeting Honourable Gbenga Oyekola stated that the 30 per cent promised by the governor-elect,  Makinde, on sharing formula of political office was intact.

The faction later called for transparent sharing of the 30 per cent  political office sharing formula agreed upon by the coalition of political parties.

“We are a unit within ADC. There are almost five different groups within ADC. CMN, Unity forum, PDP and ADC. We have to meet because our people want to know where things are now as regards last election. We want to guide against lopsidedness of allotting the political offices. As much as possible we want our leaders to be transparent. And what will allow them to be transparent is to be able to identify who and who are in each of the groups so that they would know who gets what.

We have the ADC as a party, as a major stakeholder in the coalition followed by Zenith labour and SDP and other parties. The coalition has assisted the election. It will allow the governor to work. It is a known fact that engineer Seyi Makinde has become the governor elect. So it is other things we would share and not the office of the governor. So there is no problem. It only depends on the leadership acumen of the governor

Oyekola, who represents  Atiba State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly said the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, led some politicians to go astray in just concluded election in Oyo State.

He lashed out at the Governor Abiola Ajimobi for failing to set up a  transition committee two months to the expiration of his tenure.

In an address,Hon. Lanre Agoro gave thanks to God for the achievements of the coalitions in 2019 governorship election.

He also thanked Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and Chief Michael Koleoso for their leadership role and trustworthiness in the struggle, assuring them of vehement support on their leadership.
