Olubadan Commiserates With People of Owo Over Olowo’s Death

Olubadan of Ibadanland 

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has described the late Olowo of Owo, Oba Olateru Olagbegi as a great man, even in death.

In a statement issued by his Director of Media,  Adeola Oloko on Wednesday, Oba Adetunji while reacting to the death of the monarch pointed out that the death of Olowo came as a rude shock to him but noted that he lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
Olubadan however commiserated with the government and people of Ondo State in general and people of Owo town and his immediate family in particular.
The Olowo of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi, died on Tuesday in his town at 77.
Oba Folagbade, who was given the staff of office by the Late Governor Olusegun Agagu on December 11, 2003, was the eldest son of his. father, Sir Olateru Olagbegi.
A lawyer by profession, the Late Oba Folagbade was appointed Chancellor of the University of Benin in 2005 and later Chancellor, University of Abuja.
The late monarch celebrated his 15th anniversary on the throne in 2014.
Until his demise, he was currently the Chancellor of University of Jos.
He was married to Olori Ololade Olateru-Olagbegi and blessed with children and grandchildren.
