Alleluyah, Ilaka, Sunmonu’s Son, 7 Others Make Makinde’s 10-Man Transition C’ttee

Former deputy chief whip of the Senate, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, has been named the chairman of a 10-man transition committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor-elect in Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde.
This was made known in a statement issued and signed by the committee’s deputy chairman, the PDP Oyo Central senatorial candidate, Chief Luqman Bisi Ilaka, and made available to journalists in the state.
Others in the list include, Hon Debo Ogundoyin, Mrs Oyedijo Bosede Ayo-Famola, secretary, Miss Ololade Ajibola, Mr Adeniyi Afees Babatunde, Barrister Seun Ashamu, Dr B.V. Bello, and Mr Wale Adepoju.
According to Chief Ilaka, the committee were inaugurated on Monday, April 1 ,2019, by the governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde.
The statement further stated that names of about 20 sub-committees who will work with the main committee and the transition committee to be inaugurated by the current administration will be made available soon.
Meanwhile, the deputy chairman of the committee, Ilaka said the committee after its inauguration, resolved to put the public at large on notice of its existence with particular reference to relevant stakeholders which include and is not limited to civil servants, contractors, local authority officials, relevant regulatory bodies and financial watchdogs.
The committee then advised the governor-elect “to request that the outgoing administration should refrain from the following actions which might be injurious to the financial health of the state.”
The areas listed include; “award of new contracts, recruitment of new staff, sale of vehicles in the custody of public and political office holders, approval to disburse funds held in the stabilisation account of local authorities in the state as these monies are to be applied only in the case of emergencies such as natural disasters and any other action(s) that might be deemed inimical to the financial health of the state.”

Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
