Oyo Gov. Approves Car, Housing Loan for Workers in Oyo State.

The Governor of Oyo state Seyi Makinde has assured workers in the state of prompt payment of salaries and improved welfare package for economic development of the state

The Governor stated this during an interactive session organized in commemoration of 100 days celebration of the present administration in Oyo state

The interactive session workers in Oyo state was organized to commemorate 100 days of Governor Seyi Makinde led administration

The interactive session was an avenue for workers to ask questions pertaining to the welfare of workers in the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde in his remarks appreciated workers for their support and dedication towards ensuring better Oyo state

The Governor also told workers at the programme that his administration is committed to welfare of workers through regular payment of salaries and allowances as at when due.


The Governor explained that government would soon commence a verification exercise in the state civil service to avert fraud in the system and ensure effective service delivery.


Earlier in her address of welcome, Oyo state head of service, Mrs Amidst Agboola said the present administration has approved the upward reviewed of the Car and Housing Loan for the Workers in Oyo state

In their separate remarks,the Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress,Oyo state Chapter Comrade Titilola Bayo- Sodo and His Trade Union Congress counterpart commended Governor Makinde for given priority to welfare of workers in the state.

 A total of 14,406 poorest of the poor households across 19 local government areas of Oyo State have been captured to receive N7,500 every month under the World Bank Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO). State Coordinator, Oyo State Operation Coordinating Unit (SOCU), Mrs Olaide Lasisi, made this known on Wednesday, in Ibadan, at a sensitisation of Chairmen of local government areas in the Community Based Targeting Exercise of the YESSO programme. Makinde To Appoint Adviser On Labour Matters, Negotiate Minimum Wage With Workers

The Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has congratulated the Nigerian Labour Congress in Oyo State on this year’s Labour Day and urged them to protect the interest of their members. In a release signed by his spokesperson, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said it is pertinent for the labour union and government to engage in constant dialogue in a very transparent and sincere manner to move the state forward at the advent of new administration in the state. He further asked them to discourage members from acts of collusion with desperate politicians who are taking advantage of the transitional period in the state. He reassured the union that his administration will be labour friendly and involve them in the day to day running of the administration by creating the office of a Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
