I, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye, the leader of the Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP) youths in Oyo state, want to congratulate and laud the state governor, His Excellency,  Engineer Seyi Makinde, on his 100 days in office. By tomorrow, Thursday, 5th September, the dexterous governor will open another page of masses oriented programmes in our dear state.

The last 100 days of Governor Seyi  Makinde as the governor of Oyo state has been a blessing to the citizens of the state in diverse areas. I, however, understand that 100 days will not be enough for governors to really have achievements to record, especially in a period like this where Governor Makinde's predecessor left exorbitant debt profile. Bearing this in mind, Engineer Makinde still, in his magnanimity, has achieved a lot. GSM, as fondly called, believes that all his electioneering campaign promises must be fulfilled in totality.

Our Darling GSM has demonstrated that politicians and political leaders can still be responsible and responsive to the citizens, regardless of whom they had voted for in elections. I believe that the era of business as usual is gone. GSM is, indeed, sent to Oyo state by God himself.

GSM has been quoted saying "People first before construction". Due to what he met on ground, it won't be too good to start embarking on capital projects while people are suffering. It is imperative to add that development, in simple term, centres on how the lives of the people have been improved.

This is the reason I decide to celebrate the following achievements of GSM within just 100 days in office.

1. 100 units of Kia Rio 1.4 Executive Automatic Transmission vehicles for the various security agencies in the state. To be distributed.

2. GSM has made primary and secondary school education free in Oyo state.

3. Free exercise books and other materials for all school children to be distributed upon resumption of schools this month.

4. Pensioners and workers are being paid their salaries every 25th of the month and 23rd if pay day falls on weekend, e.g. last month. The prompt payment of salaries has afforded the workers and pensioners the opportunity of planning their lives.

5. Launching of Oyo State Farmcrowdy Agribusiness Partnership to commence a 3-year plan with 50,000 farmers in the state.

6. GSM has criminalised Open Grazing in the state.

7. Under GSM, Oyo State Government begins e-registration of everyone living in the state to determine the number of people living and doing businesses in the state. This will ensure proper planning for all and sundry.

8. GSM has proscribed NURTW because of violence in the state and till date, they are yet to be back. Soon, they will come back, I believe.

9. The unprecedented N500,000 bursary for every Oyo State indigene studying in Law Schools.

10. GSM publicly declared his assets. No one else, even the President never did.

11. GSM established Oyo State Financial Crimes Commission to fight graft in government.

 12. GSM has made it known that he is ready to waive his immunity if found to have stolen from government.

This list continues as Governor Makinde rolls out other plans to improve the lives of the people in the state. It gives me joy that Governor Makinde is working and I make bold to say that in the next months and years, he will have taken Oyo state to a great pedestal where the entire citizens will be confident to say  that, in fact, it is really opportunities for all.

In the months and years to come, GSM will have touched on the areas like good road, improvement in the health sector, improvement in our education, youth development programmes, employment, training and empowerment, agricultural development, energy, among other myriads of wonderful interventions and achievements.

It is my sincere prayer that the Almighty God will divinely empower His Excellency to take the pace setter state to greater heights.

In conclusion, I congratulate the great achiever, philanthropist, the great leader, the transformation ambassador, the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on his 100 days in office as the apex servant in the state.

Signed:
Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye
Oyo State PDP Youth Leader.
